The Mosaic Lisence and Ordination Process

This is a rough outline of the Licensing / Ordination process of The Mosaic.

The Mosaic is a relational collective of faith leaders and communities, and also provides Ordination and licensing in the Province of Alberta.

The Mosaic is steadfastly committed to a relational way of operating in every aspect of its activities, however, the licensing aspect is subject to the related legislation set out by the Province of Alberta, the Mosaic Licensing and Ordination Process, and the Mosaic Abuse Prevention Policy.

LICENSING AND ORDINATION PROCESS

NOVITIATE

The Novitiate is the starting place for new Members/Licensees. An opportunity to get to know each other and for you to get a sense of the Mosaic ethos. It is also ideal for those entering more formal  ministry for the first time.

ORDAINED – LICENSED

This may be a good fit for those who value the relational ethos of the Mosaic and  have been a Mosaic Novitiate for at least one year. A person who has ministry  experience and is committed to the demonstrated call of God in their life and a  desire to be ordained and licensed through the Mosaic.

  • Active relationally in the Mosaic community for 1 year (Noviate).

Transfer of Ordination/License

If a candidate is already ordained in a recognized denomination, The Mosaic may consider recognizing the ordination after 1 year of being relationally active within the Mosaic. Please note: In this instance, candidates must still complete the Onboarding Review Process which will include background checks before they are licensed/ordained by the Mosaic.

Screening/background checks are completed for all qualified applicants.
